Back by popular demand…not really, I just have nothing else to do but write this.

8:00pm EST

World Series Fox – Is it bad, that it is only game 2, and I am already bored?  I guess it is true, you really do need big market teams in the finals.

Survivor: Gabon (Live) CBS – Tonight, according to the previews, Sugar is going to give the immunity idol to Ace.  I am sure this will be ripped on discussed tomorrow.

My Name Is Earl (DVR) NBC – This would be my least favorite NBC Thursday night comedy if it weren’t for Kath & Kim (DVR) – This show has potential.  It just depends if it will make it long enough to reach that potential.

9:00pm EST

The Office (Live) NBC – Best NBC comedy. Not quite as good as the BBC version (I must confess, there is something very funny about British comedy, maybe it is the accents).

SNL Update (Live) NBC (9:30) – Is it wrong that I look forward to Saturday Night Live more on Thursdays than on Saturdays?

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (DVR) CBS – Some of you may know, this is the only CSI that I count.  The others are not even on my radar.

10:00pm EST

ER (DVR) NBC – Like many people I watched in the beginning and fell off for awhile.  This is the last season so I am watching again.  Plus I have a thing for Linda Cardellini (pictured above).

Eleventh Hour (DVR) CBS– To be honest with you, I have not watched an episode yet but they are saved on my DVR.  One day I will get to them and see if I should keep it in the rotation.

Life on Mars (Live) ABC– I love this show.  That’s a lie, I am cautiously optimistic of this show.  I am a little confused.  How long can  they carry this, stuck in the past from a concussion thing, going on?  If they figure that out, without some crazy Lost like explanation, then I will love this show.

*** Note – you know the drill comment and we discuss it next time….someone please comment.

Wednesday’s TV Picks

This photo is from Playboy, but I don't think she has ever posed nude.

This photo is from playboy

No one reads this blog, yet, so the picks for today are for me.  I will check this site and remember what I need to watch tonight.

Wednesday is hump day so, we are going to keep it simple and watch ESPN all day.  There will surely be coverage of the World Series, sprinkled with some NFL injury reports.  In the evening we are going to go with baseball.

8:00pm EST

World Series (Live) Fox – Even if you don’t like baseball you have to at least watch the Series.

Pushing Daisies (DVR) ABC – This show visually looks like something out of a Dr. Seuss book.  The concept is original and the story lines are intriging enough to keep me watching.

Knight Rider (DVR) NBC – The Hoff isn’t in this one (except for a brief appearance in the tv movie last year) but it still is pretty good.  K.I.T.T. is amazing in this, probably, the best acting I have seen in years.  Oh, and the eye candy isn’t so bad either (maybe my favorite of the fall season), Deanna Russo (pictured above), who plays Sara.

9:00pm EST

Myth Busters (Live) Discovery Channel – I know I am suppose to be watching MLB but that can wait (the middle innings can be pretty boring sometimes).  In this episode they are testing to see if beer goggles exist.  This will either drastically decrease how much I spend at the bar or increase how many drinks I buy the Ladies.

Ghost Hunters (DVR) Sci Fi –  I can say they have never shown anything that proved the existence of ghost but they have shown some pretty unexplainable stuff.

10:00pm EST

Dirty Sexy Money (DVR) ABC –  This show is about a wealthy family that always seems to be getting in trouble.  The family lawyer and the family patriarch have to get the family out of trouble.  The father wants to just throw money at the problem and the lawyer is always being pushed to his moral limits.  I enjoy this show because it really does show how we, billionaires, sometimes get into trouble but for the most part are just normal people.

Real World/Road Rules Challenge: The Island (DVR) MTV –  How can anyone resist a spin off of the original reality tv show.  With all the drunk 20 somethings running around stabbing each other in the back, crazy antics are sure to ensue.

***Note – since you are the only one that reads this, only the shows you like are on here so there is no need to post other ideas

According to me. Not Jim

Posted in Uncategorized on October 21, 2008 by tvismyiv

According to me is a new weekly site entry devoted to shows I would rather see remade and put in the time slot of According to Jim. I will actually take reruns of the shows too.

This weeks pick is Dinosaurs the Jim Henson show that centered around Earl Sinclair and his family. Most of you might remember this show based on its tag line, “Not the mama” delivered on a weekly basis by Baby Sinclair. Really in my opinion the precursor to Stew on the Family Guy . I can vividly remember my brother hitting my dad over the head with a ruler and screaming  “Not the Mama”.   The show took on topical issues in a clever way that Caveman never could figure out.  The problem with today’s kids is they don’t have a role model like Robby Sinclair to look up to. ABC WE WANT DINOUSAURS BACK!!!

Tuesday’s Tv Picks

Posted in TV with tags , , , , , , , on October 21, 2008 by tvismyiv

As some of you know we at tvismyiv watch tv so you don’t have to but if you insist on watching for your self we also tell you recommend the shows you should watch.

For those of us with no life no job extra free time you all know your daily viewing.  We start the day with the Today Show or The Early Show or Good Morning America.  Then we move on to The People’s Court and the millions of other arbitrator judge shows.  Some move on to the day time talk shows, or the soaps, or the once classic, Price is Right (Damn you Drew Carey).  Others, who pretend to be sophisticated care about the world, will spend some time on CNN or FoxNews.  Then we watch our Dr. Phil and Opra and the such.  But on this site we will focus on the evening tv viewing.

Today at 6:00pm EST I am going to recommend Cash Cab on Discovery Channel and at 6:30 another Cash Cab.  Then at 7:00 Wheel of Fortune on NBC and at 7:30 Jeopardy

8:00pm EST

House (Live) Fox – If you don’t like house get off my site right now…seriously get off my site.  Yes, I know, Hugh Laurie is British and on the show he has an American ascent.  Yes, I also know, it follows the same format every show (House gets a case, doesnt want it, something interests him so he takes it, they run test after test, can not figure it out, something sparks a revalation and case solved) but Olivia Wilde II ‘Thirteen’ (pictured above) is smokin (also not to go all “Flesh of the Stars” but I am pretty sure she got naked in Alpha Dog).

The Biggest Loser: Families NBC – Spoiler Alert…The biggest loser family is….are you ready…go to your family picture album and there they are….hahaha….what not funny…sorry…you know what, no, I am not sorry.

90210 CWTV – I loved the orginal but seriously this show can not be good…I tend to have a bit of nastalgia about my younger years but not that bad.

9:00pm EST

Fringe (Live) Fox – This might be the best new show of the season.  My only problem with it is that Anna Torv is hot sometimes and ugly other times…it kinda freaks me out.

The Mentalist (DVR) CBS – This show may be the worst new show of the season, however, I am still giving it a chance.  It seems to be a non funny version of Psych and that show is great so if my math is correct this show should be great minus the funny.

10:00pm EST

Law and Order: SVU (DVR) NBC – To be honest with you, with all the sick people in the world, that they base these criminals on, it is a very morbid show. The worst part is that a majority of those criminals may have been based on my ex roommate.

Eli Stone ABC – Isn’t this show a musical?????  There is no way I am watching that.  I saw a musical once and I don’t think that adult video company is in business anymore.

***note – as always any other shows that you want discussed, just comment, and we will do our best, but our best is already posted.
